ICOM 2017

The 11th International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes took place from 29 July to 4 August 2017 in San Francisco, USA and focussed on "Enabling Membrane Technology "to overcome the challenges to replacing conventional technology in separations, energy production, and other applications.

VicInAqua was there with coordinator Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Karlsruhe - Technik und Wirtschaft, Germany) and partner ITM-CNR Institute on Membrane Technology, National Research Council (Istituto per la Tecnologia delle Membrane - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy) presenting our latest outcomes and 5 posters:

  • (oral presentation by Mr. Ephraim Gukelberger) Enhancing anti-fouling properties of commercial pes membranes using polymerized bicontinuous microemulsion coatings induced by uv-led light
  • (poster presented by Dr. Alberto Figoli) A novel approach for the preparation of self-cleaning membranes
  • (poster presented by Dr. Saadia Bouhadjar) Integrated aquaculture based on sustainbable water recirculating system for the Victoria Lake Basin (VicInAqua)
  • (poster presented by Dr. Alberto Figoli) Low-fouling membranes for membrane bioreactors in Lake Victoria Basin
  • (poster presented by Dr. Giorgio De Luca) Polyoxometalates in polymer membranes for a more efficient fouling treatment: a nanoscale modeling
  • (poster presented by Dr. Giorgio De Luca) Predictive study on antibacterial activity of polymerizable surfactants for membrane surface modifications
