Partner STIPRO Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Research Organization (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) shared VicInAqua's concept and experience of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) in a dedicated workshop organised by the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) on 22 July 2017 in Dar es Salaam.
It was also a great opportunity for our partner to share the design of our pilot and discuss it with RAS facilitators from ESFR. Some advantages noticed in the VicInAqua design include:
- having a real time sensor system for water management - their system doesn't have this component;
- the membrane being more sophisticated,
- having an energy system based on biogas and solar power
- the system collecting waste water that is suitable for environmental management system
