11 partners from 7 European and African countries aims at developing an integrated approach for water management by providing an integral, sustainable, innovative, cost effective and robust solution for water sanitation combined with the demand for clean water in aquaculture and irrigation in the Lake Victoria basin.

VicInAqua at the 19th African Utility Week and AfriAlliance Innovation Bridge Event in Cape Town, South Africa

Partner Steinbeis 2i visited the African Utility Week in Cape Town, South Africa, from 14th until 16th May 2019 to introduce the VicInAqua concept, network and explore further possibilities for cooperation.

This year's African Utility Week consituted a highlight for the power, energy and water sector. More than 10,000 participants attended multiple events, workshops and conferences.

In the frame of this conference and exhibition, VicInAqua partner Steinbeis 2i (S2i, Karlsruhe, Germany) attended the 2nd AfriAlliance Innovation Bridge Event which served as a matching platform for science, industry, investors and funders. In an interactive session, supply and demand side of water innovation were brought together to exchange knowledge and ideas.

The event presented a great opportunity to showcase VicInAqua to a broad audience. Steinbeis 2i introduced the concept in a one-minute pitch, followed by a networking session which allowed time for discussion and matchmaking and provided the chance to connect with potential collaboraters, customers and investors. The resonance about VicInAqua and its technologies was strong and further discussions will be followed after the event.

The EU H2020 funded (GA No. 689162) Coordination and Support Action AfriAlliance aims at enabling African and European stakeholders to work together in the areas of water innovation, research, policy, and capacity development to prepare Africa for future Climate Change challenges. Project website
