In recent years, water and energy challenges have become increasingly important to industry, regulators and users. These are often associated with new business and innovation opportunities.
VicInAqua addresses such challenges and is currently using the associated innovation opportunities at Lake Victoria by developing integrative water and energy management technologies for fish farming and irrigation. Our project follows a holistic approach combining different technologies from the fields of water treatment, renewable energies, aquaculture and process monitoring, thus creating added value for the East African market and other regions with similar environments.
