Aquaculture Europe 2016

20 to 23 September in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

In 2016, while certain sectors of European aquaculture had continued to grow over recent years, overall production had plateaued. There were numerous initiatives to stimulate growth, coupled to demographic and market conditions that showed an increased demand, although their potential impact was diminished by varying factors.

Under the topic "Food for Thought", the Aquaculture Europe 2016 conference and exhibition presented the latest science to support further development and industry panels discussed key opportunities and challenges for growth in aquaculture.

Partner ABT (AquaBioTech Group, Malta) presented VicInAqua, its objectives and technological solutions.

The event is organised each year by the European Aquaculture Society, this time in 2016 with the cooperation and support of Marine Scotland, part of the Scottish Government and The Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland.
