Aquaculture Europe 2017

This year, the focus of Aquaculture Europe from 17 to 20 October in Dubrovnik, Croatia was on Cooperation for Growth.

Indeed, one of the factors that may contribute to the lack of positive growth in the aquaculture sector is the lack of cooperation between operators. This may be regarding production (breeding programmes, feed reousrces, benchmarking technical performance...), promotion and market intelligence or training and knowledge management including open access publications.

Turning policy into growth can be achieved through diminishing competitive forces through common actions using regional cooperation, public/private partnerships and other initiatives that help to reduce conflicts.

AE2017 was a great success, with close to 1700 particpants from more than 60 countries. Partner AquaBioTech Group (Malta) attracted attention for the goals of VicInAqua - also from the perspective of international cooperation and knowledge sharing - with an exhibition booth and a poster presenting our technologies.
