The 1st AfriAlliance Conference was held from 22-24 March 2017 in Ekurhuleni (near Johannesburg), South-Africa, and served as the inaugural meeting of AfriAlliance. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 689162, the AfriAlliance project aims to better prepare Africa for future climate change challenges by having African and European stakeholders work together in the areas of water innovation, research, policy, and capacity development
Dr. Saadia Bouhadjar from VicInAqua's coordinator HsKA (Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany) represented our project at the event and took the chance to network with stakeholders related to our core areas.
The conference was hosted by the Local Climate Solutions for Africa (LoCS4Africa) 2017 Congress on Water and Climate, organised by ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability, Africa Secretariat, in partnership with Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
