Official Start of VicInAqua

On June 1, 2016, VicInAqua was officially granted financial support by the European Union's research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 to design and implement in 3 years an all-around and sustainable solution for water reuse in aquaculture and irrigation in the Lake Victoria Basin.

11 partners from 7 different countries (Europe and Africa) came together in this research and innovation project to get to an integral, sustainable, innovative, cost effective and robust solution autonomously powered by renewable energy sources. In conjunction with innovative and sustainable technical solutions, VicInAqua will provide a participatory process to raise awareness among local population, promote gender equality in aquaculture and enhance capacity building among local aquaculture operators, policy makers and scientific community.

VicInaqua is founded under the topic WATER-5c-2015 - Development of water supply and sanitation technology, systems and tools, and/or methodologies. Further projects were founded under this topic too and VicInAqua is looking for synergies with them: sister projects list.
